Breakfast Recipes for the Mother after Childbirth

Light and easily digestible foods should be taken for all courses of meal for 3 months or atleast 1 month. Breakfast items include

  1. Idili with pepper powder and ghee.
  2. Idiappam with milk
Pepper Powder for Idili

Ingredients

Pepper - 1 cup
Curry leaves - 2 handful
Asafoetida - a small piece
Garlic - 10 -12 pcs
Salt to taste

Method
  • In a pan, dry fry the pepper till it splits. Keep it aside
  • Dry fry the curry leaves and asafoetida.
  • In a mixie, add the fried pepper, curry leaves,asafoetida, garlic and salt. Grind them.
  • A pinch of jaggery can also be added.
This powder is taken with ghee for idili.
