Kappu Arasi
Ingredients
Raw rice - 1 cup
Jaggery - ½ or ¾ cup
Roasted gram - ¼ cup
Moong Dhal - ¼ cup
Cocunut pieces - ¼ cup
Method
- Soak the raw rice for 3-4 hours.
- Drain the water and pat dry the rice using a cloth.
- Boil the jaggery in water upto 2 string consistency.
- In a pan add ghee, fry the moong dhal and cocunut pieces.
- In a tray, add the dried rice, roasted gram, fried moong dhal ,cocunut pieces and jaggery syrup.
- Mix well. Allow it to cool.
- Kappu arasi is ready
Understand that rice is not cooked and hence remains as "arisi". Thin we cannot have more than two or three spoons. Do you recommend this for breakfast? Would it not be better to terms it as "arisi" rather than "arasi"
