Masala Vada

Ingredients

Channa dhal - 1 cup
Red chilli - 2-3
Onions - ½ cup finely chopped
Green chilli - 1 finely chopped
Ginger - a small piece finely chopped
Corriander leaves - finely chopped


Method

  • Wash and soak the channa dhal along with red chillis for 2 hours.
  • After 2 hours blend the dhal into a coarse batter, dont make a fine paste.
  • Add onions, green chillis,ginger and corriander leaves and salt to taste.
  • Combine well and take small balls of the batter and flatten to make vadas.
  • Deep fry in hot oil till it becomes golden brown and crisp.
