Urad Dhal Kali
Ingredients
Whole black urad dhal - 1cup
Raw rice - ¼ - ½ cup
Palm Jaggery
Method
- Grind measure urad dhal and rice to make a powder
- Take equal measures of the ground powder (rice and urad dhal) and palm jaggery. For eg.3 cups of the rice & urad dhal powder means 3 cups of palm jaggery.
- For 3 cups measurement water is 5 cups of water.
- Add 5 cups of water to a pan and boil the palm jaggery and filter.
- Boil the filtered syrup again and add the rice& urad dhal powder. Note: dont stir now.
- Add gingeley oil and close the pan.
- Keep in low flame.
- When water is evaporated add more gingeley oil and switch off the flame.
- Stir now.
For the above the above measurement (i.e) 3 cups of rice& urad dhal the process took around 1-2 hours to complete.
