Pottu for Babies

- In a dry pan, fry sabudana till it becomes black and sticky.
- Switch off the flame,crush and powder it well with a mortar and pestle.
- Add rose water and mash it well.
- Pottu is ready.
- Store the Pottu in small containers.
- In olden days, Pottu used to be stored in a clean coconut shell.
- To use this Pottu, add few drops of water to obtain the liquid black pottu, as it will be thickened.
- After 16 days (naming ceremony), this pottu is applied on baby's forehead to ward off the evil eye.
